Author: SSESSMENTS

As informed to SSESSMENTS.COM, sales at an Indian PVC producer’s end decreased up to one-fourth from the normal daily sales amid the extended lockdown in the country. Further explained, this week, the producer has received inquiries and managed to move some volume to the market. However, the producer only sells one-fourth from normal sales or around 200-250 tons a day. The producer predicted the sales will remain sluggish in the upcoming months and would not reach 100% yet in July due to the monsoon. In terms of prices, PVC prices will remain under pressure onward following low crude oil prices.

Regarding the extended lockdown in India, previously, the government planned to allow more businesses to run following the announcement of the extended lockdown. However, as the number of new cases keeps increasing; at the moment, the country’s main focus is to curb the spread of Coronavirus. As such, most of the pipe manufacturers still do not have the approval to restart operation. The producer opined that the government will most likely grant permission for these businesses after May 3, SSESSMENTS.COM was told.
