NewsSSESSMENTS: Shift In Demand Urged Vietnamese PVC Producer To Adjust Offers

Author: SSESSMENTS

The shift in demand following the strict social distancing has urged a Vietnamese PVC producer to adjust down offers, SSESSMENTS.COM was told. Compared to a week earlier, the producer adjusted down local offers by VND200,000/ton ($8/ton) due to the weak demand following the strict social distancing regulation announced by the government. Citizens are obliged to stay at home unless there is something urgent. Although transportation is still available, there are a lot of medical checkpoints, which caused a slow movement for both labour and goods.

Sales are slowing down and would decrease further by around 15-20% compared to last month, SSESSMENTS.COM was told. “Currently, there are no production or supply issues from our company’s end. For the outlook, we think it will depend on whether the social distancing regulation finishes on time or not,” the producer stated. Further added, market talks have it that another local producer in Vietnam is in a panic mode and selling much lower than the producer’s offers.
