AlwaysFree: Dow Chemical Boosts Hand Sanitizer Production To Combat COVID-19 Pandemic

Author: SSESSMENTS

Dow Chemical has announced that it would boost hand sanitizer production at its manufacturing facilities across the world to combat the COVID-19 pandemic. Dow does not typically produce hand sanitizer but its facilities in Michigan, West Virginia, Belgium, and Brazil have capabilities and most of the raw materials to make the product.

Dow’s facility in Auburn, Michigan, can produce up to 7 tons of hand sanitizer every week. When all of its production lines reach a full operating rate, Dow can produce up to 200 tons/week of the product, the company said. Dow will coordinate and cooperate with local authorities to understand their needs and requirements.

The majority of the hand sanitizer will be donated to the State of Michigan, the State of West Virginia, Charleston and South Charleston cities in West Virginia, Belgian Federal Government, Public hospitals in Campinas, Hortolândia, and Jundiaí of Brazil, and THRIVE initiative in the US. Some of the product will be sent to Dow’s manufacturing facilities to protect their workers.
