To guard domestic players from cheap shipments, India may impose anti-dumping duty from four regions on the imports of a chemical used in foam making. The regions include Saudi Arabia and the European Union.
The duty aims to create a level-playing field for domestic producers and ensure fair trade practices.
After a complaint filed by Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers and Chemicals Limited, a probe initiated by Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR) into alleged dumping of Toluene Di-Isocynate from the UAE, Chinese Taipei, Saudi Arabia, and the EU.
