Author: SSESSMENTS

Malaysia’s International Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Seri Azmin Ali said the economic sectors allowed to operate at half capacity during phases one to three of the movement control order (MCO) are allowed to carry on business at full capacity from Wednesday (April 29).

However, these companies must comply with the established standard operating procedure in their respective sectors. Failure to do so will result in termination and immediate legal action.

To discuss the economic crisis and possible remedies, a meeting held by the Economic Action Council (EAC) with the Prime Minister on April 27. The meeting agreed to permit economic sectors that were given permission to operate at full capacity without any time constraints.

The decision made after the EAC convened on April 27 to evaluate the well-being of Malaysians as well as the latest economic and financial situation.

The meeting focused on the need to restart and revive the overall economic supply chain that would help businesses to rebuild affected stocks, operate fully, as well as to enable efficient delivery of services and goods to customers.
