MEGlobal Americas (MEGlobal) has signed an agreement to buy renewable power from Calpine Energy Solutions. The deal is part of sustainability commitments made by the EQUATE Petrochemical Group, of which MEGlobal is a part. Under the agreement, Calpine will provide MEGlobal’s Oyster Creek site with 1.5 million MWh of renewable electricity over five years. The site will then run entirely on renewable electricity. Replacing power sources with renewables will cut the complex’s carbon dioxide emissions by more than 600,000 tons/year. That is equal to removing over 156,000 cars from the road for a year.
