AlwaysFree: Shell Catalysts & Technologies Helps Seamless Startup Of PetroChina Tarim Ethylene Project

PetroChina has successfully started up its first 600,000 tons/year ethane feed ethylene plant in Korla, China using Shell’s Catalysts & Technologies (SC&T) C2 FE selective hydrogenation catalyst. SC&T said its C2 FE catalyst has proven to be reliable at multiple feed sources and various operating conditions and process configurations. These features ensure producers gain higher ethylene yield with excellent selectivity and stability features which provide extra confidence in daily operations. PetroChina Tarim ethylene plant manager Shaolin Li said the plant could produce on-specification ethylene output just 11 hours after startup, thanks to SC&T team’s operational excellence and flawless execution.
