Typhoon In-fa landed at 12:30 PM (04:30 GMT) on Sunday in the Putuo district in Zhoushan, Zhejiang province, China, according to the China Meteorological Administration. In-fa brought in 38 metres per second and made a second landfall on the coast between Qidong city in Jiangsu and Jiaxing city in Zhejiang on Sunday night.
On Saturday, Zhejiang suspended markets, schools, and road traffic after raising its typhoon response to the highest level. Shanghai and Hangzhou cancelled outbound and inbound flights from Saturday, with many train services being halted. The storm came as central China was reeling with deadly floods.
Petrochemical market participants said many plastic and textile factories along the Yangtze River Delta and coastal areas appeared to be flooded and stopped production. Meanwhile, all container terminals at Yangshan Port, including the automated terminal, have been suspended due to strong wind.
