AlwaysFree: Unipetrol Wraps Up Major Turnaround At Litvinov Complex

Author: SSESSMENTS

Czech Republic’s Unipetrol has wrapped up a major regular turnaround at its chemical complex in Litvinov, the company said. All operations were suspended during the turnaround that started on April 9. The last time Unipetrol performed such heavy maintenance in the plant was four years ago. Tomas Herink, a member of Unipetrol Group’s Board of Directors, said the startup of each production unit would take several days. The turnaround covered six thousand maintenance works and revamp of production facilities.

Unipetrol faced challenges during the turnaround from the coronavirus pandemic. Foreign contractors need to be quarantined for 14 days before being allowed to work on the site. Hence, Unipetrol had to communicate and coordinate with dozens of large and small companies involved in the work. Unipetrol also managed to mitigate infection risks by implementing extensive safety, hygienic, and anti-epidemic measures.
