AlwaysFree: US October Chemical Production Rose

Author: SSESSMENTS

In October, the US Chemical Production Regional Index (CPRI) rose by 0.9%, after the 0.8% gain in September. Chemical output expanded in all regions but the northeast region posted the biggest gains.

Still, production trends eased in coatings, manufactured fibers, synthetic rubber, and crop protection chemicals amid others that all were increasing.

Year-on-year, the country’s chemical output fell by 4.9%, the seventeenth month in a row of decelerations albeit still showing steady improvements in the last few months. Almost all regions posted lower chemical production, with the biggest yearly fall occurred in the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, and West Coast regions.
