AlwaysFreeRegister: Braskem Idesa Reaches Production Milestone At Nanchital Complex

Author: SSESSMENTS

Braskem Idesa, a 75/25 joint venture between Brazil’s Braskem and Mexico’s Idesa Group, has reached a production milestone at its petrochemical complex in Nanchital, Veracruz, Mexico. The plant began production three and a half years ago, and by the end of 2019, achieved three million tons of polyethylene production.

In 2019, Braskem Idesa became the first Mexican petrochemical producer that produces high-density polyethylene (HDPE) resin which contains post-consumer recycled plastic. The company announced its commitment to making 100% of plastic packaging reusable and recyclable by 2040. It also said that it would continue its commitment to incorporate polyethylene value chain in the circular economy.

Since its opening in 2016, the complex has provided 800 direct and more than 3,000 indirect jobs that support the community in the southeast of Mexico. It also initiates numerous social, health, and safety programs for nearby communities covering 5,000 families in the region.
