AlwaysFreeRegister: Petronas Expects Commercial Production At Pengerang Complex This Year

Author: SSESSMENTS

Malaysia’s state-owned oil company Petronas said that it expected to start commercial production at Pengerang Integrated Complex by the end of the year. This statement dismisses previous report saying that it would delay the start-up until next year.

The project was shut after its atmospheric residue desulphurisation (ARDS) unit caught fire in April. The complex, a $27-billion joint venture with Saudi Aramco, will house a 300,000-bpd oil refinery. It is decided to produce up to 3.3 million tons/year of various petrochemical products.
