Shandong Jinhai Chemical has selected LyondellBasell’s proprietary Hostalen “Advanced Cascade Process” (Hostalen ACP) technology for its new 400,000 tons/year high-density polyethylene (HDPE) facility in Heze City, Shandong Province, China.
Including this new contract, LyondellBasell has licensed the Hostalen ACP technology for more than 8 million tons/year of HDPE capacity. LyondellBasell claims that the process technology will yield multi-modal HDPE resins with high performances, including better stiffness/toughness balance, high stress cracking and impact resistance which makes it suitable for film, pipe, and blow moulding applications.
Shandong Jinhai Chemical will use Avant Z501 and Avant Z509 catalysts in the new plant to produce a full range of multi-modal HDPE products. The company’s Vice President Ding Shu Bing said the technology would help it to produce high-quality and long-lasting HDPE resin.
