An Indian PP producer informed SSESSMENTS.COM that the producer deploys price protection and incentive scheme to boost PP sales in the local market. The price protection is valid until October 31 or the next price revision, whichever comes earlier. According to the producer, the strategies work for regular customers as some made procurements. However, non-regular customers were uninterested to purchase as opined that prices will drop by November. For offers, the producer maintains a stable level compared to last week.
The producer further added that the PP market in India is dull and the condition will remain unchanged until the first half of November. The total inventory level of the local producers still stood at 160,000 tons. The inventory pressure on the producer’s end is not high and the producer considered that exporting is unnecessary yet. However, exporting will be the last resort if the market situation becomes really bad in November, the producer told SSESSMENTS.COM.
