A Malaysian converter told SSESSMENTS.COM on proceeding procurement for US LLDPE Film C4 despite the downward adjustment on United Arab Emirates cargoes. Based on the converter’s information, offers for LLDPE Film C4 of United Arab Emirates origin were down by $20/ton compared to last month’s level. On the other hand, the converter also received offers for the same grade from Saudi and India at $880/ton and $850/ton, respectively. However, the converter only purchased US cargoes for the quantity of 300 tons via a global trading house at $840/ton-level. All offers were on LC at sight, CIF Malaysia main port basis.
As cited by SSESSMENTS.COM, the converter is in a cautious mode and only procuring on a hand-to-mouth basis as of recent. The current offers for import LLDPE Film C4 to the country are considered high. Besides, the converter is currently keeping an eye on the implementation of additional tariffs imposed by the U.S on Chinese goods, which will take effect on December 15, as it will affect the market situation.
