Market sources informed SSESSMENTS.COM that Formosa Plastics USA planned to shut its polyethylene (PE) production units for maintenance. According to them, the producer will shut its 675,000 tons/year HDPE film unit from July to early September. The company’s 200,000 tons/year HDPE blowmolding unit is also scheduled for maintenance in October 2020. Meanwhile, Formosa’s LLDPE unit will resume LLDPE butene production in July, the sources added.
