AlwaysFree: AmSty Sets Recycle Target for Food Applications by 2030

Author: SSESSMENTS

Americas Styrenics (AmSty), a joint venture (JV) between Trinseo and Chevron Phillips Chemical (CPChem), had set that by 2030, all of its products for food-service and food-packaging applications will contain 25% recycled content.

Working towards the goal, AmSty is involved in a JV with Agilyx in Regenyx for chemical recycling. To-date, Regenyx has converted more than 1 million lbs of polystyrene (PS) to virgin styrene monomer.

AmSty also has joined  Ineos Styrolution to build a 100 tpd of a recycling facility in Channahon, Illinois.

Randy Pogue, president and CEO, commented, "AmSty is fully committed to circular recycling of polystyrene. As proven by Regenyx, our products can sustain long-term solutions.
