US waste-to-hydrogen firm Raven SR on Tuesday said it secured a $20-million investment from Chevron USA Inc. and other companies such as Japan’s Itochu Corporation, hydrogen mobility company Hyzon Motors Inc., and Ascent Hydrogen Fund. Raven develops a combustion-free process to convert organic waste into renewable hydrogen. The technology can also produce synthetic fuels for commercial and passenger vehicles and for aviation. The company is set to construct its first production facility in Northern California, which will supply local hydrogen fuel stations and Hyzon’s hydrogen hubs.
