Author: SSESSMENTS

Chevron Corporation is planning to shut Australian Gorgon LNG plant Train 1 and Train 3 to undergo key equipment inspections in the processing units. Train 1 will shut in early October and Train 3 later in January 2021. This announcement is released by Western Australia’s industrial regulator and has been working with Chevron since August 7 when the bureau ordered the inspection of the Train 1 & 3 propane heat exchanger at the three-train LNG plant. On August 21, weld problems in Train 2 were found in propane kettles during scheduled maintenance.

The Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety statement said that Chevron has presented with technical information and comprehensive safety that supports staged and accelerated inspection schedules combined with a range of other controls.
