On Monday, Equinor said that the Hammerfest liquefied natural gas (LNG) facility on Melkoya Island, Norway was shut after a fire in a turbine.
No one is reported to be injured or missing and all personnel not participating in handling the incident have been evacuated. Emergency personnel from Equinor are working with emergency services to clarify the situation and relevant authorities have been notified.
