Author: SSESSMENTS

According to the company’s website news release on October 27, 2022, in line with the international trend toward net zero carbon emission targets by 2050, the CPC Corporation, Taiwan (CPC) and the European Chamber of Commerce Taiwan (ECCT) jointly published the “Net Zero by 2050: Best Practices Report” on September 12, 2022, at the Grand Hyatt Taipei. This report included CPC’s plan for a net zero transformation with corresponding international policies and corporation measures. Energy policies, measures and best practices of net zero transformations from Europe were also presented.

Mr. Lee Shun-chin, Chairman of CPC, said that CPC had achieved 30% of its goals in carbon reduction. At the same time, the mid-term target is a 49.5% reduction from 2005 levels of carbon by 2030. In addition, it is envisioned to achieve net zero by 2050. Toward the net zero era, CPC must actively plan transformation strategies. CPC looks forward to closer cooperation with the ECCT to promote the realization of the three major strategies of transformation, “optimizing refining operation”, “reducing carbon emission”, and “developing clean energy”.
