AlwaysFree: Fourtune Fluidized Catalytic Cracking Catalyst Introduced By BASF

The commercial launch of Fourtune announced by BASF.  For gasoil feedstock, Fourtune is a new Fluid Catalytic Cracking (FCC) catalyst product. While maintaining catalyst activity and performance, Fourtune has been optimized to deliver superior butylene over propylene selectivity.   

Being the latest product based on BASF’s Multiple Framework Topology (MFT) technology, Fourtune has the ability to deliver better economic performance through high conversion and butylene selectivity. Fourtune maintains high distillate yields that boost refiners’ profitability.

The MFT technology uses more than one framework topology that work together. Thus, performance to tailor the catalyst selectivity profile is enhanced. 

To produce more butylene to feed the alkylation unit, Fourtune’s ability to provide operating flexibility and maximize margins has been demonstrated by the new MFT technology. Since post-treatment on the gasoline stream often required by today’s tighter sulfur regulations, the technology provides an answer to the increased demand for octane.
