According to TASS, Russia's state-owned news agency article published on November 2, 2022, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz had a phone call with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan Tuesday, discussing the situation in the region, German Cabinet Spokesman Steffen Hebestreit said, adding that the German Chancellor praised Turkey’s commitment to continuation of grain export from Ukrainian under the Black Sea grain initiative.

"The Chancellor praised Turkey’s commitment to continuation of the export of Ukrainian grain under the Black Sea grain initiative," the spokesman said.

At the same time, Scholz "decidedly rejected Russia’s allegations that Ukraine is preparing to usea ‘dirty bomb’," the spokesman said.

"The Chancellor and the President of Turkey agreed that Russia’s nuclear rhetoric is irresponsible," the spokesman said. "The Federal Chancellor and the President of Turkey agreed to stay in close contact regarding the current security situation," he concluded.
