The Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) reported that Iranian car manufacturing in the third month (May 21-June 20) of the current Iranian calendar year rose by 31% year-on-year at 90,306 units.
In the first three months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 20-June 20), the country’s car production was at 203,146 units. Meanwhile, in the previous calendar year, car manufacturers produced 863,263 vehicles.
Iran has been strengthening the program for boosting the domestic manufacturing of auto parts since the US sanctions harmed the supply of their required parts and equipment.
The country’s major carmakers are Iran Khodro Company (IKCO), SAIPA Group, and Pars Khodro.
