CFO of Russia’s Novatek, Mark Gyetvay, stated that more than 45 cargoes of liquefied natural gas (LNG) were cancelled so far in June due to the coronavirus pandemic.
According to Gyetvay, the warmer weather has a worse impact on natural gas prices as compared to the impact of the pandemic.
He also elaborated that in February, 2 US LNG cargoes were cancelled. The number of cancelled cargoes continued the uptrend with 25 in April and over 35 in May.
