On Sunday, Marathon Petroleum announced the sale of Speedway and a definitive agreement has reached with 7-Eleven for the USD21 billion sale in cash.
The company said that the transaction is targeted to finish in the first quarter of 2021 and result in after-tax cash proceeds of roughly USD16.5 billion. Marathon would utilize the sale to repay debt and return capital to shareholders.
