- The Saudi Ports Authority (MAWANI) has revealed the addition of Jubail Commercial Port to the India Gulf Service 1 (IG1) shipping route by ocean carrier Hapag-Lloyd.
According to Port Technology article published on January 23, 2023:
The shipping service includes - 3 vessels with a weekly capacity of 2,400 TEUs.

- Improving the Kingdom’s performance in the Liner Shipping Connectivity Index (LSCI)
- Facilitating national imports and exports to and from global market
