AlwaysFree: Phillips 66 Restarted Lake Charles, Louisiana, Refinery After Hurricane

Author: SSESSMENTS

On Thursday, Phillips 66 restarted its 260,000 bpd Lake Charles refinery in Lousiana after repairing the damage caused by Hurricane Laura.

Previously on August 25, the refinery sustained damage to cooling towers and the electrical power infrastructure in southwest Louisiana due to Laura. Then early last week, the efforts to restart the refinery were disrupted by Hurricane Delta.

According to a notice filed with the Louisiana Department on Environmental Quality, the refinery is operating with temporary cooling towers until the towers damaged by Laura was replaced. The restart of the refinery was earlier than its restarting target of the end of this week.
