AlwaysFree: Putin Says Europe Will Have Buyers Of Gas After Construction Of Turkish Hub Is Completed

Author: SSESSMENTS

  • There will be enough of those who will want to conclude contracts, Russian President said

According to TASS, Russia's state-owned news agency article published on November 1, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday expressed confidence that there would be enough buyers of natural gas, including in Europe, after the plan to build a hub in Turkiye was completed.

"Itis quite a realistic project, and we can do it fairly quickly. There will be enough of those who will want to conclude contracts. There’s no doubt about that," the president told reporters.

"I have no doubt many of them will be in Europe," the Russian leader went on. "We’ll see what happens this winter and the next. I’m sure contracts will be signed, no doubts about that. Anyway, we can use European countries as transit nations, for supplies to other regions of the world."

Speaking at the Russian Energy Week forum last week, Russian President Vladimir Putin proposed creating Europe’s largest gas hub in Turkiye and redirecting the volume of gas, the transit of which is no longer possible through the Nord Stream, to this hub. It may imply building another gas pipeline system and creating a hub in Turkiye, through which gas will be supplied to third countries, primarily European ones, if they are interested, he said. The issue was discussed at the talks between the Russian and Turkish presidents on October 13 in Astana.
