The six refineries will be in Deer Park, Texas, US; Norco, Louisiana, US; Pernis, the Netherlands; Pulau Bukom, Singapore; Rheinland, Germany; and Scotford, Canada. These facilities will integrate with chemicals and increasingly with low-carbon fuels such as biofuels, hydrogen, and synthetic fuels alongside Shell's chemical complexes include CSPC; the Fife Ethylene plant; Geismar, Louisiana; Jurong Island, Singapore; Moerdijk, the Netherlands; and Pennsylvania Chemicals.

The other eight refineries, including ones where Shell has stakes in joint ventures, have started to be divested, with other options include converting them into terminals or closing them.
