Canadian pipeline company TC Energy plans to invest in renewable energy projects to electrify its pipelines in the US. On Monday, the company requested information from around 100 renewable energy developers to identify wind energy investment opportunities. TC Energy will then invite selected companies to submit requests for proposals. Analysts said the investment could total about $1 billion and generate 620 MW of electricity for the company’s US pipeline business. The move is part of TC Energy’s efforts to reduce emissions and costs.
