AlwaysFree: Ukraine’s Biggest Private Energy Company Starts Importing Electricity From Europe

According to TASS, Russia's state-owned news agency article published on January 25, 2023, DTEK Holding, the largest private electricity supplier in Ukraine, has begun importing electricity from European countries, the company’s press service announced on Wednesday.

"In January, DTEK began importing electricity from Europe to improve the situation in the Ukrainian energy system. This allows us to reduce the shortage and support the population and economy of Ukraine," the Telegram channel said.

According to the company, the current capacity allows importing about 500 million kWh per month, which is equal to the monthly consumption of 2 million households.

On January 11, Ukraine's Energy Minister Herman Galushchenko said the country was currently importing small amounts of electricity from the European Union. European Commissioner for Energy Kadri Simson said that the EU is ready to supply Ukraine with electricity.
