AlwaysFreeRegister: Four LNG Export Projects Receive US FERC Approval

Author: SSESSMENTS

The construction of four proposed LNG export projects received approval from the US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) on Thursday. These new projects include Texas LNG’s 0.3-bcfd Brownsville, Exelon Corp’s 0.8-bcfd Annova LNG Brownsville, Cheniere Energy Inc’s 1.5-bcfd Corpus Christi Midscale, and NextDecade Corp’s 3.6-bcfd Rio Grande.

Currently, more than four dozen LNG export projects are being developed in North America. The US itself will have its LNG export capacity increasing to 6.9 bcfd by the end of this year and 9.6 bcfd by the end of next year from 6.8 bcfd currently.

So far, in 2019, FERC has approved some projects, including ones proposed by Venture Global Calcasieu Pass, Port Arthur LNG, Driftwood LNG, Eagle LNG Partners Jacksonville, Gulf LNG, Freeport LNG, and Venture Global Plaquemines LNG. It also revealed that there were four projects which were pending before the commission.
