According to China’s General Administration of Customs, the total imports of PVC have increased by around 8k tons in October compared to the previous month, at around 45k tons. Such figures are relatively smaller as compared to about 62k tons in October 2018.
Meanwhile, exports of PVC from China in October have fallen by around 3k tons compared to September, at around 37k tons. Nonetheless, the export quantities showed a spike of 45.9% compared to October 2018.
For the period of Jan - Oct 2019, China imported a total of 547k tons of PVC, down by 7.9% year-on-year. During the same period, China exported a total of 453k tons of PVC, down by 11.5% year-on-year.
The top 5 import origins of PVC to China in October were the United States (20,285 tons), The Separate Customs Territory of Taiwan, Penghu, Kinmen and Matsu (14,190 tons), Japan (6,462 tons), Indonesia (1,704 tons) and Thailand (1,648 tons).
The top 5 export destinations of PVC from China in October were Uzbekistan (7,457 tons), India (5,5710 tons), Kazakhstan (5,433 tons), Malaysia (3,965 tons) and Vietnam (2,295 tons).
