- A trader informed SSESSMENTS.COM that following the softer futures market prices, local HDPE Film and LDPE Film offers from the company’s end dropped by CNY150/ton ($21/ton) and CNY150-200/ton ($21-29/ton), respectively. While local LLDPE Film C4 offers decreased between CNY50-150/ton ($7-21/ton). All offers compared to Thursday’s level. On the supply side, as of Friday morning, July 17, the inventory level of the two leading Chinese polyolefins producers stood at 725,000 tons, remain stable from a day earlier.
- While a Xiamen-based trader contacted by SSESSMENTS.COM’s team stated that this week, offers for import Qatari PE cargoes across all grades are $10-20/ton higher on the weekly comparison. While offers for HDPE Film and HDPE Yarn from a Taiwanese producer remain stable compared to the same period. Even though the increments are not significant, buyers are unwilling to place orders for import cargoes as PE prices in the domestic market are currently on a downtrend. From the trader’s end, the company decided to lower PE offers between CNY200-300/ton ($29-43/ton) compared to last week due to reductions in the futures prices.
