- A South Korean producer contacted by SSESSMENTS.COM’s team revealed that the producer maintained export offers for HDPE Film to China stable from last week’s level. The producer acknowledged that other suppliers were adjusting down the offers for PE grades, however, as this week the producer is focusing on the sales for HDPE Pipe, the company does not bother to make adjustments on HDPE Film offers. But if the downward trend prolongs to next week, the producer would follow to adjust down the offers. In terms of demand, buying appetite for HDPE Film is poor this week.
- In the local market, a trader based in Shanghai informed SSESSMENTS.COM that local offers for PE across all grades were adjusted down between CNY100-300/ton ($14-43/ton) as compared to last week’s levels. Demand-wise, digestion rate for PE remains slow amid the traditional low season. Looking ahead, adjustment on PE prices in the spot market would solely rely upon the movements in the futures market, since the improvement in demand for PE remains off-sight.
