- On the Dalian Commodity Exchange, September 2020 LLDPE futures price has been trending higher since the beginning of May. At the time of publication, SSESSMENTS.COM noted that in the month of May, LLDPE futures touched the highest level on May 21 at CNY6,535/ton ($912/ton). Compared to the early this month, futures price rose by CNY115/ton ($16/ton). Throughout the month, LLDPE futures price fluctuated within the range of CNY6,230-6,535 ($870-912/ton).
- On the supply front, SSESSMENTS.COM was informed that the inventory level of the two leading Chinese polyolefins producers has decreased further. As of Thursday morning, the polyolefins inventory at both producers recorded a decrease of 30,000 tons from a day earlier, stood at 705,000 tons.
