- A South Korean polyolefins producer contacted by SSESSMENTS.COM’s team unveiled the latest export HDPE Film offers to the China market. At the moment, export HDPE Film offers to the China market are available at $920/ton on LC at sight, CIF China main port basis. This level increased by $50/ton as compared to a fortnight ago. The producer acknowledged that the current level is too high and received stiff resistance from buyers. As such, the producer is waiting for buyers to submit the bids. Market talks have it that some big converters that have already stocked up a high volume of materials are selling PE resins rather than their end products due to the traditional low season. Some others have to reduce the operating rates amidst the yearly seasonal pattern.
- For Southeast Asian cargoes, a Thai PE producer informed SSESSMENTS.COM that the offers for import LLDPE Film C4 to the China market have finally emerged. Import LLDPE Film C4 of Thai origin to China is available at $870/ton on LC at sight, CIF China main port basis. No price comparison provided since the producer did not offer this grade for quite some time. Although the current demand for PE is not strong, the producer still managed to secure some deals at the initial offer level.
