- This week, a local trader in Vietnam reported to SSESSMENTS.COM on receiving July shipment offers from Middle Eastern and Southeast Asian producers. For Southeast Asia origin, July shipment offers from the leading Philippines polyolefins producer stand at $860/ton for both HDPE Film and LLDPE Film C4 cargoes, no price comparison available. As for Middle Eastern origin, a Saudi PE producer has also announced July shipment to the market. Latest offers for HDPE Film from the producer are available at $850/ton. Similarly, July shipment offers for LDPE Film from a Turkish producer captured between $960-970/ton. However, no transactions successfully concluded so far as the customers consider those offer levels as high. All offers are on LC at sight, CIF Vietnam Main Port basis.
- Whereas in Indonesia, a converter has secured sufficient volumes from a Singaporean producer to cover up monthly production. Even though the pandemic crisis continues to be a threat, the producer does not have any issues in arranging shipment to other countries and no allocation issues as well. Sales figure from the converter’s end saw a month-on-month increase, but still below the expectation. The converter is still running at a reduced capacity, although the demand for their end-products has slightly improved. The converter added that most customers from the automotive industry have not resumed operations yet, while other customers are asking to delay the products deliveries. Overall, Indonesia's economic prospect remains pessimistic and very uncertain due to the outbreak. SSESSMENTS.COM was informed that most end-users prefer to spend money on essential needs amid rising concerns over the potential second wave of the pandemic.
