- A regional trader informed SSESSMENTS.COM that this week, import LLDPE Film C4 cargoes of Philippines origin to Indonesia are available at $920-930/ton LC at sight, CFR Indonesia Main Port basis. The trader expects a positive response from buyers due to the competitive offers coupled with supply shortage in the local market. However, since the offers are for August shipment, buyers are giving cold shoulder as they prefer prompt delivery cargoes. Demand-wise, overall PE demand in Indonesia is stable from last week despite a slight drop in market sentiment due to the concern over the second wave of the Coronavirus. The trader opined that import PE prices will be stable in the near term.
- While in Vietnam, a converter submitted bids for Saudi LLDPE Film C4 at $890/ton on LC at sight, CIF Vietnam Main Port basis, $40/ton lower than the initial offers. The converter is anticipating to hear back from the producer by July 2. Further added, if the bid is rejected, the converter plans to source for localized cargoes from the domestic market as current offers for LLDPE Film C4 are deemed too high.
