- An Indonesian converter revealed to SSESSMENTS.COM that this week, the company has secured some volumes from a Saudi producer at the initial offer level as the producer is not willing to entertain requests for a discount. Meanwhile, the converter skipped buying spot LDPE Film cargoes since the company are currently using fewer LDPE materials. Previously, the converter received import offers for HDPE Film, LDPE Film, and LLDPE Film C4 from the Saudi producer. In comparison to two months ago, the latest offers for HDPE Film and LLDPE Film C4 are available at $100/ton higher. Further added, these cargoes will be shipped directly from the Middle East. As for Southeast Asia origin, import offers for HDPE Film of Thailand origin surfaced at $80/ton higher as compared to the same period. However, as compared to the previous month level, current offers remain unchanged. Demand-wise, the converter saw a slight uptick in demand for single-use plastic bags, fashion plastic bags, and bread plastic bags, but still below the expectation.
- Whereas in the Philippines, a local converter reported to SSESSMENTS.COM that import mLLDPE Film C6 offers from a Singaporean producer has skyrocketed. As compared to offers received by the end of May, current offers are $40/ton higher, captured between $1,080-1,160/ton on LC at sight, CIF Philippines Main Port basis. The converter noted that the Singaporean producer is maintaining their offer level above $1,000/ton-level on the back of higher ethylene cost and tightness in LLDPE supply. Further added, most traders are also offering US LLDPE Film C4 cargoes at higher levels compared to last month, available between $820-840/ton with the same payment and delivery terms.
