- An Indonesian converter reported to SSESSMENTS.COM that the offers for localized Southeast Asian LLDPE Film C4 from the largest trading house in the country increased significantly by IDR710,000/ton ($50/ton) from last week. The converter stated the company is unsure of the reason behind the drastic increases. While for local LLDPE Film C4 cargoes, the converter received offers at IDR13,410,000/ton ($944/ton) on 30 days credit term, FD Indonesia basis, and excluding 10% VAT, increased by IDR110,000/ton ($8/ton) from the offer received last week.
- A Vietnamese trader informed SSESSMENTS.COM on the latest import offers to the country. For Thai HDPE Film and LDPE Film cargoes, the offers increased by $20/ton and $10/ton respectively from a fortnight ago. Likewise, July shipment offers for Saudi HDPE Film and LLDPE Film C4 also surged by $90/ton from last month. For South Korean cargoes, July shipment offers for HDPE Film and LLDPE Film C4 went up by $100/ton and $110/ton respectively compared to a month earlier. While offers for import South Korean LDPE Film cargoes have gone up as much as $90/ton compared to the same period. The trader mentioned that the offers have increased significantly within a short period, as such, the company is questioning whether the customers will accept the current offer level. So far, deals were concluded for a limited volume as buyers are unwilling to purchase in bulk due to the high prices. Looking ahead, the trader predicts that the current uptrend will be short-lived and there is a possibility for the offer to be corrected downward in mid-July.
