- A Thai trader informed SSESSMENTS.COM that current offers for localized Emirati HDPE Film from the trader’s end stand at THB27,000/ton ($851/ton) on cash, FD Thailand basis and excluding 7% VAT. While in the import market, the trader received offers for Emirati LLDPE Film C4 via a global trading house at $810/ton on LC at sight, CIF Thailand Main Port basis, $10/ton higher compared to the producer’s offers. The trader purchased two containers of these cargoes at the same level as the initial offer. Demand-wise, the overall PE demand in Thailand is still not strong yet. However, demand for LLDPE Film C4 is better compared to the other PE grades in line with healthy demand for flexible packaging. The trader opined that the unpredictable market will discourage buyers in procuring materials in bulk, most will only purchase on a need-basis.
- While in Indonesia, a local converter commented to SSESSMENTS.COM that the company received offers for import LLDPE Film C4 cargoes of Singapore and Thailand origin at $750/ton and $780/ton, respectively on LC at sight, CIF Indonesia Main Port basis. While in the domestic market, the leading Indonesian polyolefins producer has announced the price list for this week. Compared to the price list announced on May 26, the producer decided to increase local offers for HDPE Film and LLDPE Film C4 by IDR590,000/ton ($41/ton).
