- A packaging manufacturer in Malaysia contacted by SSESSMENTS.COM’s team stated that the company reduces the buying quantity for LLDPE Film C4. Usually, the converter purchased 70 tons of LLDPE Film C4 per month. However, due to the slow sales for the end-products, buying quantity for LLDPE Film C4 is reduced by up to 70% of the normal volume. As stated by the source, demand for their end-products in July drops significantly. Stocking up activities during the Movement Control Order (MCO) cited as the major reason behind the slow sales. Besides, as MCO has ended, people are no longer stocking up food. Hence, the converter saw a significant reduction in demand since the converter’s end-product is mostly for rice packaging.
- Whereas in Indonesia, the leading polyolefins producer in the country has announced the fresh offers for the week commencing July 6. After revising the price list three times last week, SSESSMENTS.COM noted the producer made a further upward price correction for this week’s price list. Compared to the price list announced on July 3, offers for LLDPE Film C4 increased by IDR150,000/ton ($10.3/ton) while offers for HDPE Film remain unchanged.
