- A local trader in the Philippines shared with SSESSMENTS.COM on the latest import PP offers and current demand condition. For February shipment, the trader is offering import PP Homo Raffia of Vietnam origin at $1,060/ton on LC at sight, CIF Philippines Main Port basis. However, the number of inquiries and transactions are limited this week. After the Taal Volcano erupted on January 12, the trader informed that most market participants are more concerned with safety issues. Aside from this situation, cooling tension between US-Iran led market players to the sidelines, while some have left their desks for the Lunar New Year celebration.
- Whereas in Thailand, a local converter reported on receiving local PP Homo Raffia offers at THB33,000/ton ($1,086/ton) on cash, FD Thailand basis and excluding 7% VAT. The latest offer level emerged in the market with an increase of between THB500-1,000/ton ($16.5-33/ton) as compared to the offer level available in the previous week, SSESSMENTS.COM noted.
