NewsSSESSMENTS: Australian Trader Expresses Opinion On Recent Price Quotation For Import PE And PP Cargoes

Author: SSESSMENTS

An Australian trader expressed an opinion to SSESSMENTS.COM on the recent price quotation for import PE and PP cargoes. This week, the trader received offers for import Malaysian PP Random Copolymer Injection and high-flow PP Homo Raffia at $1,170/ton and $1,090/ton, respectively. Meanwhile, the trader also inquired PP Random Copolymer Injection of Thailand origin. However, a Thai producer quoted prices at $1,200/ton, which is too high and would be deemed unattractive by buyers. As such, the trader is currently trying to find PP Random Copolymer of Far East Asia origin with expectations that the offers will be lower compared to Southeast Asia origin. All offers on LC at sight, CIF Australia Main Port basis.

For PE, the trader stated to SSESSMENTS.COM that there are no fresh offers received so far. However, the trader believes that the offers will most likely remain firm. Last week, US HDPE Film cargoes were being offered to Australia at $920/ton on LC at sight, CIF Australia Main Port basis, which was deemed unworkable. The trader also opined that the current uptrend in prices will most likely be short-lived as the state of demand could not support yet.
