NewsSSESSMENTS: Axens Wins Technology Contract For CHPCL Petrochemical Complex Expansion

Author: SSESSMENTS

Axens has won the technology contract for the expansion of a petrochemical complex in Daya Bay, China, owned by CNOOC Huizhou Petrochemical Company Limited (CHPCL). Under the contract, Axens will provide its second-generation ParamaX Technology Suite and supply catalysts, adsorbents, and equipment. It will also provide a full-service offer covering plant personnel training, plant start-up, and plant performance monitoring.

Market sources told SSESSMENTS.COM that the project would expand CHPCL complex’s high-purity aromatics production capacity to 3 million tons/year. The new aromatics complex will be able to produce 1.5 million tons/year of p-xylene in a single train.

Axens’ ParamaX Suite includes Arofining selective olefin removal technology, Eluxyl 1.15 p-xylene purification technology, XyMaxSM-2 C8 aromatics isomerization technology, and TransPlusSM-5 aromatics transalkylation technology. Axens claims the second-generation ParamaX Technology to have higher aromatics yields and superior energy efficiency.
