NewsSSESSMENTS: China’s Chambroad Petrochemical Plans To Construct Two PP Units

Market sources in China informed SSESSMENTS.COM that Chambroad Petrochemical,  also known as Shandong Jingbo Petrochemical, is planning to construct two new polypropylene (PP) units with a combined capacity of 600,000 tons/year. The units are part of a CNY5.17 billion ($728 million) propylene plant in the Boxing Chemical Industrial Park at Binzhou in Shandong which can process up to 2.04 million tons/year of raw material.

The plant is currently under construction and is expected to enter service at the end of 2021 or early 2022. The plant will have a 600,000 tons/year hydrogenation unit, 550,000 ton/year aromatics extraction unit, and a 320,000 tons/year propylene unit. The PP capacity will include a 400,000 tons/year PP unit that uses LyondellBasell’s Spheripol technology, and another 200,000 tons/year PP unit that uses LyondellBasell’s Spherizone technology.
