Import PE offers on LC at sight, CIF China Main Port basis
A Chinese trader contacted by SSESSMENTS.COM revealed market reactions towards three-digit changes on import Thai PE offers. As of Monday, April 13, the latest offers for HDPE Film, LLDPE Film C4, and LLDPE Injection of Thailand origin surfaced in the China market with a significant increase. Compared to last week, the offers for Thai HDPE Film and LLDPE Film C4 soared by $150/ton and by $80/ton, respectively. While for LLDPE Injection cargoes, the current offers stand at $930/ton on LC at sight, CIF China Main Port basis. No comparison is available as the trader did not receive offers for this grade last week.
Responding to the offers, most of the trader’s customers showed stiff resistance towards the current offers. The trader further explained to SSESSMENTS.COM that the prices were deemed too high by buyers. Even though the allocation from the producer is currently limited, no buyers are willing to purchase the cargoes.
