Market sources informed SSESSMENTS.COM that Dow Chemicals had notified its customers in the Andean region, Central America, and the Caribbean region about an increase of 5 cents/pound ($110/ton) in the prices of grades of polyethylene (PE) resins. This increment will be valid on August 1, on top of the previously announced 4 cents/pound ($88/ton) increase for June and July. Market participants in the region said there were attempts to increase prices by $50-$100/ton from producers.
